In February of 2011, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) branches in Sarnia Lambton and Chatham Kent, Ontario merged to form one branch: CMHA Lambton Kent. The merger created a strong branch capable of providing professional mental health experts and additional resources to serve the Lambton Kent region. In Lambton Kent, CMHA provides a wide range of innovative and individualized services as well as community and workplace education to over 7,000 adults and youth each year. CMHA Lambton Kent services are client driven, with an integrated organized approach to meet the needs and choices of people who have been diagnosed with mental illness. CMHA services are divided into three categories: Crisis Intervention and Short Term Services, Integrated Client Services, and Mental Health Promotion. The purpose of these services is to help individuals develop and maintain their capacity to achieve their goals and live as independently as possible in the community, and to develop the personal tools they need to lead meaningful and productive lives.
CMHA Lambton Kent is a proud member of the Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team and the Sarnia Lambton Ontario Health Team.
