Client and Family Advisory Panel

Partner With Us to Shape Better Mental Health Care

At CMHA Lambton Kent, we believe the best mental health care is built with clients and families, not just for them. Your voice, lived experience, and perspective matter, and they help guide how care, programs, and services are developed and delivered. In 2018, the Client and Family Advisory Panel was established to ensure that clients and families are active partners in shaping meaningful, responsive, and compassionate mental health care across our organization.

The Client and Family Advisory Panel brings together people with lived experience to help strengthen and advance client and family‑centred care. Panel members work collaboratively with staff to share insights, offer feedback, and help guide improvements that make a real difference. Panel members come together to:

  • Share ideas and feedback on initiatives and programs that support client‑ and family‑centred care
  • Collaborate as a positive, solutions‑focused voice for high‑quality care experiences
  • Champion meaningful client and family engagement across all CMHA Lambton Kent services

As a member of the Client and Family Advisory Panel, you will have opportunities to:

  • Advise CMHA Lambton Kent on meeting the evolving needs of clients and families through teamwork and collaboration
  • Help advance client‑ and family‑centred care principles across all services
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality of care and participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Strengthen collaboration between clients, families, and staff
  • Provide valuable input on education, policies, programs, and communication materials
  • Review and offer feedback on policies, procedures, and other items referred to the Panel
  • Contribute to a yearly briefing note highlighting the Panel’s activities and impact
