Understanding your rights and responsibilities as a client will help you to have a more positive experience. The information below explains what you can expect from us, and how you can take part in your own wellness journey.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- be treated with dignity and respect
- have policies about privacy, confidentiality, safety and complaints explained to you
- get information and support in a timely way
- understand the services you are receiving and how they work
- take part in creating your care plan and setting your goals
- raise concerns or make a complaint and have it taken seriously
- review your own records
- choose to stop records at any time
Your Responsibilities
You have an important role in creating a safe and respectful environment. You are expected to:
- treat all people, including staff, other clients, and visitors with respect
- follow CMHA Lambton Kent policies and guidelines
- respect the privacy and confidentiality of others by not sharing information about their experiences
- ask questions if something is unclear
- take part in your care and work toward your goals
- let your worker know as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule
- recording conversations with staff, clients, or others (including audio, video, or photos) is not permitted
- weapons of any kind are not allowed in CMHA Lambton Kent spaces or during appointments
- violence, threats, or harassment will not be tolerated and may result in services ending
